This site contains information about our faculty, the various programs and courses offered, and useful links related to the learning and teaching of Modern Languages. As well, our Department is home to an undergraduate program in Studies in Comparative Literatures and Cultures along with a Masters Program in Comparative Literature and the Arts (see the Graduate Program link).
We are currently offering full degree programs (single and combined major programs) in French Studies, Hispanic and Latin American Studies (Spanish and Portuguese) and Italian Studies (see also each section under Degree Programs for details). The Department also offers a new co-major, taught in English, in Studies in Comparative Literatures and Cultures.
For students majoring in other disciplines, we also offer Minor Programs in French Studies, German, Hispanic and Latin American Studies and Italian Studies. The Department has additional language courses in Classic Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian and Kiswahili. Contact the Department for more information about these courses.
The Department does not recognize a challenge for credit.
The Department does not give Brock credits for online or long-distance courses offered by other institutions.
