Research
My research is focused on understanding the effects of cognitive factors on the central nervous system control of upright stance.
My primary interest is investigating how psychological factors such as fear or anxiety and physiological factors such as changes due to age or disease (e.g., Parkinson's disease) can interact to influence the strategy selected by the central nervous system to maintain upright stance.
My research also focuses on the development of strategies to better assess, prevent and manage balance problems and falls in older adults and individuals with musculoskeletal or neurological deficits.
