Have you ever thought about the following questions?
Why do people engage in research? Why might it be important to learn about how to conduct research? How can I develop research capacity? How can I be part of a research team?
Through research, scholars look to understand the complexities and nuances of the world we live in. In education, research is focused on improved teaching, learning and governance of educational institutions. As a student, being part of a research team provides you an opportunity to know more about issues that are happening in your field, to connect and communicate with others who have similar interests, encourage you to investigate and explore and help you develop a sense of research procedures.
The Faculty of Education Office of Research helps students develop research capacity by providing Research Assistantship (Word Document) information and organizing workshops introducing how to use both qualitative and quantitative data analysis software programs (such as SPSS and NVIVO) and how to review literature with the help of various tools.
Please contact the Faculty of Education Office of Research if you have any questions or suggestions.
