Attending An Event?
If you will be attending a large event on campus, or an event of any size that is scheduled during the University's business week (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), it's likely the event sponsor has informed the Parking Services office. To find out the nearest parking area to your event, please contact our office. Knowing your event location can save you time, and sometimes money.
Parking fees are charged for all on-campus special events. These include basketball games, swimming tournaments, theatre productions, high school sporting events, parties, and more. Any special parking arrangements should be arranged through Parking Services. The cost is borne either by the requestor or the patrons of the event.
Planning An Event?
If you are planning to host an activity on campus, Parking Services can help. Contact Parking Services if you are expecting 10 or more vehicles to be brought to campus in conjunction with a planned event, or if you require parking for Oversized Vehicles (trailer or cube delivery trucks) in areas of campus not designated to accommodate them.
Events May Disrupt Regular Parking and Traffic Patterns!
Event-related activity may disrupt the routine parking and traffic patterns of the campus and the surrounding community. Even patrons should allow themselves extra time to get parked and to their events venue on schedule. Given the 'round-the-clock' nature of University functioning, the parking of event attendees and campus permit holders must often be accommodated simultaneously. While event parking plans are in effect, parking permits are honored as space is available in assigned lots, or in the nearest lot with space available. In rare instances (basketball games, concerts), all of the convenient parking spaces available to event attendees and permit holders may be filled.
