Paul van der Merwe recognized as Brock University's Co-op student of the year

Oenology and Viticulture (OEVI) student Paul van der Merwe was recognized as one of Brock University's co-op students of the year for 2014. Van der Merwe spent his summer 2013 placement in British Columbia working as a vineyard and winery junior assistant at Culmina Family Estate Winery.

Culmina co-proprietor Don Triggs praised van der Merwe for his intiative, ideas and energy during his term.

The team from Culmina made a video to congratulate him on this honour, it can be viewed here.

Outside of the co-op program, van der Merwe has also been active volunteering on campus. He organized an educational wine tasting event. The Osoyoos Larose wine tasting and blending excercise raised money to support Red Roof Retreat - a facility that provides respite and recreation programs for children with special needs.
