CHYS Professor Wins Prestigious Award

The Faculty of Social Sciences congratulates Dr. Jan Frijters (CHYS) who has been awarded the 2014 Albert J. Harris Award with his research team for his paper entitled "Evaluating the Efficacy of Remediation for Struggling Readers in High School". According to the article in the Brock News that announced this award, the Albert J. Harris award recognizes an article or monograph “that makes an outstanding contribution to the understanding of, prevention, or assessment of remediation for struggling readers in high school.”  Dr. Frijters has made a significant impact on the reading ability for many adolescents who struggle with learning the necessary skills for reading.  Questions about this research can be directed to Dr. Frijters
