Statement of Support for Dale Askey
Published on March 05 2013
Brock University Library strongly supports Dale Askey (Associate University Librarian, McMaster University) in his defence against the Edwin Mellen Press lawsuit. We also urge Edwin Mellen Press to drop all legal proceedings against Mr. Askey. In our opinion, the lawsuit is an overly aggressive response to Mr. Askey’s blog posting and further we are concerned that it has the potential to discourage reasonable academic discourse and to damage the reputation of Mellen Press and that of its authors.
