Greig de Peuter, 'Creative Class Conflict, ' to launch Trans/media/formations Series

The Trans/media/formations Speakers Series begins Thurs. Jan 24, 3-4pm, Sankey Chamber, with ‘Creative Class Conflict’ by Greig de Peuter. Prof. de Peuter teaches Communications at Wilfrid Laurier University, and will be speaking about cultural policy after Richard Florida, and in particular its intersection with the precarious working conditions of interactive digital media workers.

The Trans/media/formations Speaker Series is a series of invited speakers and roundtable debates on the social and cultural implications of transmedia and new digital technologies. This interdisciplinary series reflects on emerging transmedia texts and practices from within a variety of disciplinary contexts and perspectives. The series is sponsored by the Transmedia Research Network, Interactive Arts and Science, Communication, Popular Culture & Film, and the Council for Research in the Social Sciences at Brock University.
