Social History Research Receives CRISS Grant
Published on December 06 2012
Dan Glenday (SOCI) has received funding from the Council for Research in the Social Sciences (CRISS) to write a Social History of the Centre for Labour Studies. This will produce a permanent, accurate, written document of the early social history of the Centre for Labour Studies at Brock University. Detailing social histories is important because "social history is concerned with ‘real life’ rather than abstractions, with the struggles by individuals and small groups in the face of organizational opposition and, in the case of 25th anniversary of the Centre for Labour Studies in 2014, the establishment of one of the first multi-disciplinary programs at Brock University". The project is expected to be published by April 2014.
