Tech Showcase a Success!

The fourth annual Brock Tech Showcase took place on January 27th. With over 400 educators in attendance, the event has grown to become the largest free educational technology event in Ontario. Educators had the opportunity to participate in three 75 minutes sessions that included the following topics:

• An Introduction to BitStrips for Schools
• Assisting Struggling Writers with Word Q/Speak Q and Microsoft Word
• Assistive Technologies
• The Digital Backpack (Pearson Canada)
• Enhancing Educational Technologies with Classroom Audio
• Gamification of Learning
• Google in the Classroom
• Interactive projector in every classroom
• Introduction to Clickers in the Classroom
• iPads in the Elementary Classroom
• Live Learning with Livescribe
• SMART Board for the 21st Century Learner
• Support and Enhance Visual Thinking and Data Literacy with Kidspiration® and InspireData®
• Tech to Teach: Welcome to the New (Microsoft) Classroom
• Using Technology to Aid Assessment: Introduction to SMART Response
• Using Technology to Capture Learning in the Early Years Classroom
• Web 2.0 in the Classroom

In addition to a free pizza lunch, participants were provided with opportunities to win numerous prizes, and network with other educator interested using technology to support student learning.
