Snow Buddies Wanted

Are you thinking about when it’s going to start snowing? Some of your neighbours are already thinking about it. When seniors know that the snow season is just around the corner they start to worry  about not being about to get out of their driveways. We need your help to help them. Volunteer to help shovel by contacting Community Support Services at cssn.on.ca.

Community Support Services of Niagara is a non-profit charitable organization that provides services to seniors, helping them stay healthy, safe and strong in order to live independently in their homes as long as possible.   Free snow removal, provided by students is one of our services in the communities throughout Niagara Region.

The students make a difference to seniors providing free snow removal, since many seniors feel trapped in the winter and cannot safely leave their homes (for doctor’s appointments and to get groceries).  We also often hear that many seniors cannot afford snow removal and make choices between groceries and paying for snow removal during a heavy snow fall week.

The Snow Buddies program is a wonderful opportunity for students; please call or email Laurie, Snow Buddies co-coordinator, or PatriciaSafety at Home Program Manager, if you have any further questions or what like to get involved in this great opportunity. For more information about CSSN (Community Support Services of Niagara), please refer to our website: www.cssn.on.ca

We appreciate your time and support!
