On Monday, September 6 the Faculty of Education was delighted to welcome to the St. Catharines campus the first cohort of students in the new Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) (BECE) program. Dr. Fiona Blaikie, Dean of Education and Dr. Renee Kuchapski, Chair of Graduate & Undergraduate Studies were on hand at the program’s inaugural event to offer the group a warm welcome to Brock.
There are 32 students enrolled in the new program, which builds on the foundation of a two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma. Graduates of the BECE program will have a comprehensive understanding of the issues and trends in early care and education for children from birth to 8 years old and be well prepared for further studies or work in the field of care and education for young children.
