The Bike Trip - to raise funds for Niagara Penguins Wheelchair Basketball team

Published on March 22 2011

Jesse Roest (Fort Erie) and Graeme Hogg (Port Colborne) Con-Ed/PhysEd students at Brock University are set to ride to east coast to raise awareness for athletes with disabilities.

From April 16th to May 20th 2011, they will be riding their bikes over 2000km from Ottawa ON, to Charlottetown PEI. They are trying to raise awareness for athletes with disabilities in our community.

Their Focus: the Brock Niagara Penguins Wheelchair Basketball team.

Their Goal: to support the team into their 6th year by supporting 5 athletes who cannot afford the registration fee of $125 each year (total of $625).

They are taking their bikes, a tent, sleeping bags, a bike repair kit, water bottles, I.D. and that’s it!

You can follow their adventure at thebiketrip.tumblr.com. This website is where you can see their daily updates, pictures, and videos and find out how to donate!

Check in daily! Send them messages and encourage them along the way.

With lots of donations you can help make a difference in the lives of many athletes.
