This site contains information about our faculty, the various programs and courses offered, and useful links related to the learning and teaching of Modern Languages. As well, our Department is home to a new Masters Program in Comparative Literature and the Arts (see the Graduate Program link).

We are currently offering full degree programs (single and combined major programs) in French, Italian and Spanish (see each language for details). In addition to the courses taught in each language section, the Department offers a series of courses taught in English in the areas of comparative literature and linguistics (designated as MLLC) that are acceptable for credit towards a degree in each language.

For students majoring in other disciplines, we also offer Minor Programs in French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The Department has additional language courses in Classic Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Kiswahili. Contact the department for more information about these courses.
