OUAC Code:
BCH

Degree:
Bachelor of Science

Program:
4-Year BSc (Honours) Biochemistry
4-Year BSc (Honours) Biochemistry Co-op

Program Description:
A major advantage to studying Biochemistry at Brock is that our teaching and research labs are combined. This means you’ll apply current techniques and technology to biochemical problems using the same state-of-the-art equipment that our professors use for your research. The program begins with a set of core chemistry, cell biology and molecular biology courses. In years three and four, you may emphasize either biology or chemistry, choosing from a wide selection of courses that include studies in metabolism and energy flow, proteins and enzyme action, macromolecular structures, information flow and molecular genetics, and bio-organic and biophysical chemistry.

If you plan to pursue a career in a health profession, you may wish to team up this degree with our one-of-a-kind Med Plus program. The Biochemistry Co-op program allows you to combine academic and work terms and gain valuable work experience. In co-op, your degree will be completed in five years, and will include three four-month work terms. You’ll complete four academic terms before beginning your first work placement.
