- Algebraic topology and knot-theory;
- Theory of games, and applications to: (i) conflict resolution; and (ii) playing of existing games;
- Combinatorics (esp. combinatorial games);
- Fair elections (representation, apportionment, re-districting);
- Mathematical models (i) as extensions of common sense, (ii) as devices to guarantee consistency;
- The paradox of widespread illiteracy in a widely-schooled population.
