Facebook Page Guidelines
Below are the guidelines we promote on our Brock University Facebook page:
Brock University’s Facebook page is meant to create a sense of community for people interested in the University – students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, community members and friends. We encourage active discussions and sharing of information and thoughts, especially discussions about the University and issues pertinent to higher education.
We encourage you to interact with each other and with Brock in a respectful and meaningful way on our wall, photos and other threads of content. When posting to the Brock University page or affiliated pages, please keep in mind that your name and photo appear next to your comment(s) and are publically visible to visitors of the page.
Please respect other people’s views, beliefs and emotions. Brock University reserves the right to add, remove and edit content on this page. The University is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page. We have the right, at our discretion, to screen and remove any content we deem inappropriate.
We will remove content that:
- is posted with the primary purpose of selling a product or service
- is obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit
- depicts graphic or gratuitous violence
- harasses, abuses, threatens, intimidates, bullies or in any other way violates the rights of others
- is derogatory, demeaning, malicious, defamatory, abusive, offensive or hateful
- solicits or spams
- is fraudulent, deceptive, misleading or violates any law or regulation
- contains foul language or in any other way is considered inappropriate
Please keep conversations relevant. Off-topic comments may be removed to keep the thread on track.
At any time, we may block offenders from accessing our page without notice.
Please ensure that any content you post in this community complies with the Brock University Online Code of Conduct, the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and the Facebook Copyright Policy. Facebook encourages all users to “report” links they find abusive.
Help us maintain an inviting interaction space by self-policing threads and flagging spam. Although we take pride in our hands-on approach to community engagement, we do sometimes miss inappropriate content. Email us at email@example.com
We appreciate your efforts to keep the Brock University community Facebook environment inviting, insightful and constructive.
Thank you for visiting our page and interacting with Brock University and our friends.
We will respond to inquiries on this page during regular University hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, excluding all statutory and University holidays.
