Basic Form:

Example:

Atlas Citation

Basic Form:

Map in a Topographic Series

Basic Form:
Author. Sheet title, number [format]. Edition. Scale. Series title. Place of publication: Publisher, Date.

Example:

Map in a Series

Basic Form:

Example:

CIA Outline Map Series

Basic Form:
Title [physical/political][format]. Base number. Scale. Place of publication: Publisher, Date.

Digital Static Map (Map from the web that cannot be altered, i.e. census maps)

Basic Form:
Author. Map Title [format]. Date of map creation. Scale. “Name of Site and/or complete Document”. URL (accessed date).

Interactive Reference or Thematic Map (a map that you generate from the site, by adding, subtracting, or changing layers, i.e. Niagara Navigator, Google Earth, GeoSearch)

Basic Form:
Author. Map Title [format]. Date of data, if known. Scale, if known. Name of person who generated map; Name of interactive site used to generate map. URL (generated date).

Examples:
