The data set can be used for interpreting the suficial geology of the Ottawa area as well as comparing the map to other Geological Survey sheets. Thematic geological maps can be created from the map and imported into other applications to use as a base map for a report.
Data Format
The database is available in both MapInfo tables and ArcView themes.

Accessing the Data
Data files for MapInfo are located in C:\public\mapinfo\ottawaGEOL\ottawa.wor.
The workspace file contains all of the layers compiled into the final layout.
The ArcView files are located in C:\public\arcview\ottawa\ottawa.apr. This
ArcView project file contains the layers compiled into the map.
Data output/Printing
Data can be exported from MapInfo in MIF/MID, ASCII, DBF, Windows metafiles
and Windows bitmap formats. The data can be exported from ArcView in the
following formats: Windows metafile, Windows bitmap, EPS, Adobe Illustrator,
and CGM.
The data can be printed from the colour printer at a small cost per page.
