Coverage

UHIP provides basic health care coverage for most medically necessary services covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP - permanent resident coverage), including in-patient and out-patient hospital services. UHIP also covers laboratory and diagnostic testing, home care services and repatriation. 

 

Note: UHIP does not cover dental or eye care; refer to the ‘Additional health charge’ section for extended coverage information.

 

 

Dependent Coverage
Note: If you require UHIP coverage for a dependent, it is your responsibility to inform International Services. There is a late application fee if you enroll dependents more than 30 days after they arrive in Canada.
