The University of Otago is located in Dunedin, which is a major city within the Otago province. It was founded in 1869 and has approximately 17,000 students. The city of Dunedin also offers students many social, cultural and sporting activities, but is a small enough city to not be overcrowded. Also, within an hour's drive of the University of Otago, are some of the region's most spectacular scenery and outdoor recreation spots. You can participate in snow sports in winter, water-sports in summer, and a variety of sightseeing tours and wildlife reserves.

Second Semester (Brock’s First Term) typically starts early/mid July and ends mid November
Note: the seasons/terms are opposite of Canada/Brock.

Housing
 
Students can choose to live in one of the many Residential Colleges (Residences) at the University of Otago or live off-campus. Please visit the University of Otago’s Accommodation website for more information. All accommodation fees are the responsibility of the student.
