Advisory Committee on Institutional Data (ACID)

The Advisory Committee on Institutional Data is charged with providing advice regarding issues related to the generation, dissemination and consumption of data.

Purpose

The Advisory Committee on Institutional Data (ACID) was formed in 2003 at the request of the President, Vice-President Academic, and Vice-President Finance and Administration. The committee is charged with providing advice regarding issues related to the generation, dissemination and consumption of data, both within the University and in relation to external data requests. ACID functions in a strictly advisory capacity but may speak in a formal manner should circumstances warrant. The group meets every three weeks.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, ACID provides advice on a regular basis on the following:

  • The development, annually, of enrolment and related revenue projections as part of the budget process;
  • Enrolment projections required by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU);
  • Common University Data Ontario (CUDO) and other institutional data reports (e.g., BrockFacts); and
  • Survey administration and analysis

Composition

The Committee includes the following members:

  • Information Technology Services, Director, Administrative Information Systems
  • Institutional Analysis, Manager
  • Institutional Analysis, Financial and Institutional Analyst
  • Registrar’s Office, Registrar (Chair)
  • Registrar’s Office, Assistant Registrar, Enrolment Management, Reporting and Systems (Reporting Officer)
  • Student Services, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President

Other resource personnel are added as necessary.
