As a musicologist specializing in eighteenth-century Italian opera, Dr. Debly's publications include articles on various aspects of eighteenth-century opera as well as the history of musicology as a discipline. She has essays and articles in: Metaphor--A Musical Dimension; The Opera Foundation Eszterháza Newsletter; CAML Review/Revue de l'ACBM (Canadian Association of Music Librarians); and Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteenth Century. Her book reviews can be found in: The Times Higher Education; The Eighteenth Century: A Current Bibliography; and Canadian University Music Review. The focus of her research has been on the operas of Joseph Haydn and she co-organized a major international conference, "Celebrating Haydn" at York University in 2009 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Haydn's death. She has presented numerous papers on opera at both national and international conferences held by various musicological and eighteenth-century societies. Dr. Debly has taught music history courses from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, as well as specialized courses in opera history and musicology. Her administrative experience includes being Chair of the Dept. of Music from 1999 to 2001 as well as holding various executive positions in academic societies.
