Edward Kanerva

SCLA Graduate

Edward Kanerva received his MA in Studies in Comparative Literatures & Arts from Brock University in 2008. In his major paper he focused on the avant-garde poetics of Christian Bök and the work of Robert Smithson.

Today, Edward is the Programs/Publications Coordinator at The Power Plant, and the Marketing Coordinator at the graphic novel publisher, Pop Sandbox. At The Power Plant, he has coordinated the logistics of the past two seasons, and has been involved with all levels of publication production. This includes editing, production managing, design work, and, most recently, writing an essay on Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle. At Pop Sandbox, he has been spearheading the company’s social media campaign surrounding their award-winning, graphic novel KENK: A Graphic Portrait and the soon-to-be-released The Next Day. Both releases are interdisciplinary, hybrid projects that combine documentary film, animation, online components, and the comics medium.
