RESEARCH AND CREATIVITY
Faculty research, creative work and academic conferences
Individual research
The faculty of the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts are among the most professionally achieved whether in the vein of publishing books, catalogues or articles in refereed journals, editing scholarly publications and on-line journals, directing, dramaturging or designing theatre productions, contributing to curricular workshops, composing and conducting musical or choral events, and participating in one-person or group exhibitions or curating and reviewing exhibitions.
Several of our faculty currently hold grants from the prestigious Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Please visit individual faculty pages under Departments and Centres for more information.
Conferences and panels
We also have contributed to organizing our own conferences such as the cross-disciplinary Greenscapes -Sense and Meaning (2007, 2009) organized by faculty from English Language and Literature, the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, Classics and Visual Arts and a new initiative, LyricCANADA 2010 sponsored by Dramatic Arts and the Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture.
