English News

The English department is pleased to announce the publication of a
special double issue of the literary journal PRECIPICe.

Prof. Gregory Betts has been awarded a three-year SSHRC SRG in support
of his project titled "On the Margins of the Garde: Vancouver 1961-1975."
He has recently published a new book of poems titled Psychic Geographies and Other Topics.

Prof. Tim Conley edited Joyce's Disciples Disciplined: A Re-Exagmination of the 'Exagmination' of 'Work in Progress'  Dublin: University College Dublin Press, 2010.

Prof. Adam Dickinson has been awarded a Canada Council grant in support
of his current poetry project, Mer.

Prof. Leah Knight has been awarded the British Society for Literature and Science prize for the best book in the field of literature and science published in 2009 for 'Of Books and Botany in Early Modern England'.

Prof. Angus Somerville and Prof. Andrew McDonald (History) recently published The Viking Age: A Reader. University of Toronto Press.

Prof. Sherryl Vint has recently published Animal Alterity: Science Fiction and the Question of the Animal. Liverpool: Liverpool University Press, 2010.
