Facilities

Facilities in the Centre for Digital Humanities include collaborative production spaces, a multimedia teaching lab and seminar rooms. Bookable technologies include a video games library and a portable Brock Connect teleconference system.

Collaborative Production Spaces

TH269H

The CDH Production Lab hosts over 20 dual monitor Windows workstations and the Games Lab. The Games Lab includes a variety of PC and games console hardware, two 40" televisions, and a whiteboard.

The 4th Year Production Lab hosts high end Windows workstations, a Mac Pro workstation, and the Whisper Booth sound recording studio with ProTools.

Multimedia Teaching Lab

A Netsupport School Classroom Lab consisting of one instructor and 28 student networked computers running Windows 7. Desktops are installed with Autodesk's Maya, Game Maker 8.1, Praat, SketchUp, UDK/Unreal, VLC Media Player, ArcGIS, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office, and Wordperfect Suite. The lab is also equipped with a region-free DVD player, VCR, two fixed/portable whiteboards, one data projector and screen, one overhead projector and dimmer lights.

Seminar Rooms

A multimedia seminar room suitable that can accommodate up to 28 participants. All tables and chairs are on castors, allowing the room to be configured into various arrangements. The seminar room is equipped with a PC, DVD player, VCR, audio, two projectors, two screens, one document camera, three white boards and dimmer lights.

A multimedia seminar room that can accommodate up to 24 participants. All tables and chairs are on castors, allowing the room to be configured into various arrangements. The seminar room is equipped with a PC, DVD player, VCR, audio, two projectors, two screens, one document camera, three white boards and dimmer lights.

Advanced Topics Research Lab

A production and research space that is equipped with a Mac Pro and a suite of high end interactive media software.
