CLAS 5P00: Pro-seminar in Classics (2012-2013: R.A.K. Smith and faculty) A survey of the tools, resources and methodologies for a holistic study of Greco-Roman antiquity with emphasis on philology, history and material culture. Research writing for grants, abstracts, conference proposals, and public presentation. Seminar, 3 hours per week.

An exploration of the responsibilities of archaeological engagement with the past through study, protection, and display of cultural heritage. The course focuses both on ancient sites and objects, and contemporary issues in the Mediterranean world, situated within the framework of national and international laws and conventions.
