Teaching
Dr. Dwivedi began teaching undergraduate linguistics students in 1989, at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Since then she has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and at McGill University before coming to Brock.
Here at Brock, Dr. Dwivedi teaches courses in Introduction to Linguistic Theory, Neurolinguistics and Syntax.
Research
Dr. Dwivedi's research interests include behavioural and electrophysiological investigations of language processing, especially using formal syntactic and semantic theories.
Speech processing, especially with regard to interaction between syntactic and prosodic structure, in right- and left-hemisphere damaged patients and non-impaired individuals.
Issues in syntax-semantics interface in Hindi: theories of adjunction and clausal relations, theories of long-distance dependencies.
