Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities!
We offer undergraduate programs and courses in Applied Linguistics, Classics, Dramatic Arts, English Language and Literature, French Studies, German, History, Hispanic and Latin American Studies (Spanish and Portuguese), Interactive Arts and Science (Gaming), Italian Studies, Music, Philosophy, and Visual Arts.
We also offer programs through our centres for Canadian Studies, Digital Humanities, Intercultural Studies, Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and Studies in Arts and Culture.
The Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts (which includes the departments of Dramatic Arts, Music, and Visual Arts and the Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture) and the Rodman Hall Art Centre are also housed within the Faculty of Humanities.
Our graduate offerings include MA programs in Applied Linguistics (TESL), Classics, English Language and Literature, History, Philosophy, and Comparative Literatures and Arts, and our innovative PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities.
Studying the Humanities allows you to explore the cultural, intellectual, and artistic ideas of the world from ancient times to the present. Learn to think critically about significant works of our human heritage, develop excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and make your Humanities education a springboard into graduate or professional school and a career in law, education, business, government, the culture industry, and any other sector where imagination, reason, and passion are required.
We invite you to explore this website to learn more about the Faculty of Humanities at Brock University. Please contact us if you have questions or would like to arrange a campus tour or a classroom visit.
