Associate Director, Marketing and Brand Management

A strategic and innovative leader with a demonstrated track record in managing highly successful marketing and branding programs within a complex environment, this position will provide senior accountability for the overall strategy, planning, implementation, management and evaluation of an integrated marketing communications (IMC) and branding program that is aligned with the strategic priorities of the University. Overseeing brand and reputation management, the role provides senior leadership in an essential role that strategically directs the University into a position of strong local, provincial, national and international recognition.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Advancement, and working across the University with senior leaders, you will provide expertise in marketing and brand management, strategic marketing planning and delivery, human resource management, institutional leadership as a senior subject matter expert, and fiscal/budget management. Accountable for the creative vision and brand expression of the University, responsibilities will include: developing strategic plans related to recruitment, brand management and reputational enhancements; preparing and presenting reports/plans to Board committees; building partnerships with the community and partners; overseeing all marketing initiatives; leading, coaching and inspiring staff; recommending marketing and brand policies, procedures, best practices and standards; and providing strategic direction for marketing campaigns, advertising/media planning and sponsorships.

The ideal candidate will possess a marketing or business degree (MBA preferred), with 10+ years of progressively more responsible senior management experience in marketing, providing strategic counsel at a senior level, preferably within an educational or related institution where consensus-building is key. Your experience has provided you with success in brand management, change management, strategic marketing planning & management, market research, advertising/media planning and social media. Experience with creative direction and advertising agencies is highly desirable. APR, ABC or CAAP certification preferred.
