The Department of Applied Linguistics (DALS) has an opening for a part-time academic writing mentor to help Bridged Entry MA Applied Linguistics (TESL) students to improve their academic writing skills. The time commitment for the position is expected to be an average of 10 hours per week (one hour per student) of regular face-to-face meetings with students plus 3 hours of group meetings for each of the Fall and Winter sessions to review general issues in students’ academic writing. An additional 30 hours will be allowed for email consultation and report writing over the course of the year.

In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to keep a detailed record of meetings with students which should form the basis of a report to the DALS Graduate Program Committee at the end of each session.
