The Faculty of Education invites applications for a six month (six) Instructional Limited Term Appointment (ILTA) in the area of Aboriginal Education (Aboriginal Studies). The successful candidate will be appointed to the Tecumseh Centre for Aboriginal Research and Education and will be expected to liaise with the Department of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies in Education to teach courses for the Centre and Department. The appointment, subject to final budgetary approval, will commence July 1, 2013.
The successful candidate will preferably hold an earned doctorate in education or equivalent (ABD candidates will be considered), have an excellent command of English, and an extensive personal background and knowledge of Aboriginal culture and language issues. The candidate will also have an extensive knowledge of Aboriginal history and educational policy affecting Aboriginal students and communities. An understanding of or experience with teacher education in Ontario, and experience in teaching K-12 would be an asset. The candidate will require a valid Ontario Driverís License and a satisfactory police record check.

Brock University is located in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in southern Ontario, is less than 1 ½ hours from Toronto, and is 15 minutes from Niagara Falls. St. Catharines is located on Lake Ontario, and is located in wine-country. It has a population of 130,000 and offers easy access to cultural and recreational activities. Brock is an excellent place to live and work.
