Reporting to the Executive Director, Community and Ancillary Services, the Business & Operations Analyst will provide campus ancillary departments with professional expertise in the areas of research and financial analysis, consulting and operational support, that enhances the organization’s capacity to identify, develop and implement initiatives that will increase revenues, decrease costs, improve productivity and efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. This position will also assist in providing the financial oversight and accountability of ancillary revenues and expenses. Main responsibilities include Business Planning, Operational Support and Financial Oversight, Internal Consulting, Research and Analysis. The incumbent will be responsible for compiling annual business plans and operating budgets; monitoring and reporting on operating results and budget analysis; benchmarking; coordinating/participating in special projects; providing consulting to Conference Services, Food Services, Parking Services, Campus Store, Printing and Duplication, Bar Services, Shipping/Receiving/Mail Services, Brock Card, Youth University, Continuing Education, Visitor Services and other ancillary services as requested; and serving as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A university degree in business, finance, economics or other relevant area (advanced degree an asset)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in related industry (preference given to candidates with public/education sector experience)
• Experience in business case writing
• Ability to think creatively
• Proven advanced problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to forge relationship with internal and external stakeholders; cultivate trust and respect from peers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to convey financial information to various stakeholders
