Job Summary

A member of the Office of the Registrarís team, the Transfer Recruitment/Admissions Officer reports to both the Director of Admissions and Director of Recruitment and Retention.

During the recruitment cycle, the Officer is part of a larger recruitment team representing all undergraduate Faculties and programs across the institution. Responsibilities include participating in the recruitment of students; travelling and providing formal presentations and public speaking engagements; participating in information fairs/sessions across Ontario; initiating new recruitment/outreach opportunities; developing and implementing recruitment and marketing strategies; acting as a University-wide resource for inquiries from prospective transfer students throughout the admissions/recruitment cycle. During the admissions cycle, the Officer is part of a larger admissions team dedicated to the evaluation and admissions assessment of applicants from Ontario colleges and universities. Responsibilities include determining eligibility for admission of applicants from Ontario colleges and universities; researching, assessing and determining transfer credit and providing related advising support; responding to inquiries; maintaining the transfer credit policies on the portal website, web-pages, calendar and the online Knowledge Base; and assisting in the facilitation of registration and transitioning of incoming transfer students.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a University degree, preferably combined with a College diploma as well as experience in sales, marketing, admissions or any position requiring relationship building, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of Brock Universityís admission criteria and academic regulations specific to the transfer applicant pool coming from Ontario colleges and universities. You have demonstrated the ability to master vast quantities of program and service knowledge related to the undergraduate experience and general knowledge of transfer credit practices across Ontario; a proven ability to convey information effectively to large and small groups; ability to research and recommend outreach best-practices; proven ability to think critically and independently; and demonstrated ability to meet goals and prioritize workload. In addition, you possess strong computer skills; demonstrated excellence with new technology; polished presentation skills; strong technical/multimedia skills, excellent organizational and writing abilities; and proven administrative skills. You must possess a valid Ontario driverís licence and flexibility for extensive independent travel in Ontario.
