In addition to being the official University identification (ID) card for students, staff and faculty,the Brock Card is used for a variety of uses/sources on campus including residence, on-campus food operations, library and at a growing number of off-campus vendors. The Brock Card office also provides departments with department cards where usage is charged to a designated departmental account with departments being provided with monthly reports of charges.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Brock Card Office, the Brock Card Administrator will coordinate and guide the ongoing operational activities of the Brock Card office. Duties include: processing and tracking all Brock Card financial transactions; coordinating the identification (ID) card production process; acting as systems administrator for the OneCard system (maximizing use/services/revenue generation, troubleshooting); assisting the Managing Director with Brock Card existing and new vendors (on campus and off campus); liaising with other University departments on Brock Card operations; marketingt and promoting the Brock Card system at various events; and serving as a resource person on the general operation of the department.
The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Business, Retail/Marketing, Information Systems, combined with several years’ related experience in a computer-based retail and/or financial payment card environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with post-secondary operations is preferred (with University experience being a particular asset). Your experience and on-going training has provided you with strong computer skills in a Windows O/S environment, and a familiarity using different software packages. A strategic thinker with solid organizational, time management, problem solving and analytical skills, you also possess a strong customer service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain/resolve potential technical problems with individuals with varying levels of technical expertise. You have demonstrated success working independently while handling a variety of tasks with multiple priorities and strict deadlines. Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy is critical.
