Job Summary

A key member of the University Marketing and Communications team, and reporting to the Web Marketing Communications Manager, you will develop, enhance and monitor social media communities. You will generate awareness, spark use and imagination, and build user engagement to enhance the University brand. Responsibilities include day-to-day logistics within the scope of the University’s social media networks; blogging and monitoring of blogs; monitoring and broadening social media coverage; developing e-mail, web and electronic viral marketing promotions to reach and grow diverse University audiences; contributing to the University’s third-party multimedia partner sites; and managing forums and topics to encourage user discussions. In addition, you will provide guidance to faculties and departments on social media strategies and opportunities on their web pages.

Qualifications

You should have an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or public relations combined with several years’ experience in electronic media (with branded websites), and a proven track record of creating effective online direct response programs. You are an excellent communicator (verbally and in writing), with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. You bring a variety of e-communications experience including social media initiatives preferably in the post-secondary education sector, copywriting experience (writing for the web), strong project management skills, and demonstrated success working collaboratively with multiple contributors on a variety of projects. A self motivated, results-oriented professional, you are well versed in all aspects of the web, from current social media applications to blog architecture to content management systems, to ensure smooth, continual content delivery. Multimedia proficiency is preferred, including video production and photography skills.
