Job Summary

The Tecumseh Centre for Aboriginal Research and Education invites qualified applicants to teach one or more courses in Aboriginal Studies. In particular, the Centre is seeking instructors for:

ABST 1F90 (Introduction to Aboriginal Studies);
ABST 2F14 (Decolonizing Aboriginal Women’s Identities);
ABST 2F80 (Introduction to Aboriginal Education in Canada); and/or
ABST 2F90 (Studies in Aboriginal History I).

These positions, for the September, 2014 to April 2015 academic year, are subject to budgetary approval.

Qualifications

The successful candidates will hold graduate degrees in Education, Aboriginal Studies or equivalent. Teaching experience and/or experience in Aboriginal education are expected, along with deep understandings of Aboriginal cultural and linguistic realities. It is expected that candidates will also understand government policies affecting Aboriginal students, families and communities.
