As Head Language Monitor you are an enthusiastic, reliable, creative, bilingual (preferred) leader who can motivate and support a team of language monitors that deliver in-class workshops twice a week, lead and supervise students on afternoon outings, plan and facilitate evening and weekend activities and experiential participation in cultural activities while promoting English language skills.
Bringing innovation to the program that encourages an English only language environment, strong leadership skills, event management with a communicative approach, experience working with young adults and having international and ESL experience is beneficial.
You will also provide weekly schedules to monitors for coverage of workshops, and activities.
Successful applicants should have completed at least Year 2 of a relevant undergraduate program. Current and valid First Aid certification is required. Other certifications/training, such as Mental Health, QPR and Safe Talk would be considered an asset. Previous experience in a supervisory role, with coaching, recreation activities, and working with second language speakers is advantageous.
