The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies invites applications for Field Experience Facilitators for the RECL 2F16 Outdoor Recreation Theory and Practices field experience activities.
Field Experience Activity Dates:
 Winter Camping - January 29 - February 2 (2014)
 Niagara Glen/Leave No Trace Certification - March 21 (2014)
Compensation: Field Experience Facilitator: $150.00 per day
Assistant Field Experience Facilitator: $85.00 per day
Successful candidates would be expected to have
• Undergraduate degree in leisure studies or a related discipline; post-secondary teaching experience preferred; instructional facilitator experience related to the specific field experiences
• F Class Driver’s License
• Wilderness First Responder, preferred
• Other qualifications and competencies related to the duties of the position (for canoeing - experience teaching canoe rescue, flatwater and rescue certifications preferred; for rock climbing - experience in top-rope set-up; AMGA or top-rope certification (or equivalent) preferred; for winter camping - experience in snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and backcountry winter camping; for backpacking - experience in extended backpacking trips and backcountry campcraft; for the Niagara Glen - experience with nature interpretation and teaching bouldering)
