This is a casual position which will extend from October to the end of April, 2013. It is for a casual registered nurse, for approximately half a day per week and for nursing coverage during illness or vacation. This could include a morning, afternoon or evening. (4pm -8pm) shift.
The incumbent will work with a team of physicians and nurse to provide medical care to Brock University students. The incumbent is expected to manage triage, patient assessment, treatment which includes emergency care, comprehensive follow-up of patients, continual health teaching and crisis counselling. Excellent nursing and communication skills are required as is previous health counselling experience.
The successful applicant must be a practicing Registered Nurse with at least 5 years experience (emergency, psychiatric, critical care, public health and/or health education). A BscN or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is preferred. Some physical assessment experience would be an asset. As our records are all computerized, computer skills would be an asset as well.
