Funding Support Packages
Full-time master’s students in funded graduate programs will receive graduate fellowship funding in accordance with the funded period length of the graduate program. Funded periods for a master’s program varies from 3 – 6 terms, depending on the program (consult the program regulations for details).
Full-time doctoral students in funded graduate programs will receive graduate fellowship funding in accordance with the funded period length of the graduate program. Funded period for a doctoral program is up to 4 years (12 terms), depending on the program (consult the program regulations for details).
Funding packages are posted to the student’s financial account (my.brocku.ca) The funding items are posted to the student’s account at the beginning of each term (September, January, May). The other items are one time lump sum payments posted to the student’s financial account (my.brocku.ca) at the beginning of the relevant term (typically the entering term). The Graduate Assistantship, is employment income, and is paid bi-weekly to the student’s personal bank account. Tuition and ancillary fees are posted to the student’s financial account (my.brocku.ca) at the beginning of each term (September, January, May) and deducted from the total graduate funding amount for the term. The balance is issued to the graduate student in the form of a cheque. Graduate students funding cheques will be mailed to the address indicated on your student record. When your student account shows "Our Cheque to You", the cheque has been issued, and shortly after you can expect to receive it through the mail.
Please note that students on an approved Leave of Absence or Inactive term are not eligible to receive University financial support. Eligible funding terms may commence again following an approved Leave of Absence or Inactive term.
