What is a minor and how can I apply for one?

A minor is distinct from a student’s major or combined major, and requires from four to six credits as designated by the relevant academic Department/Centre. Students wishing to obtain a minor, within a degree program, may not use the same course(s) to satisfy both the major requirement and the minor requirement. As not all Departments/Centres offer minors please refer to the 2006-07 Undergraduate Calendar for a listing of minor requirements. www.brocku.ca/registrar/calendars/ It is important to discuss how a minor will fit into your degree with the academic adviser specific to your program.

To add a minor to your program of study submit a Declare/Change of Major form to the Office of the Registrar. The form can be picked up in person from the Office of the Registrar or downloaded from www.brocku.ca/registrar/forms/.
