What is Experience Works?
Career Services, in partnership with the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office, created the Experience Works Program and through it administers funding for on-campus student jobs. Faculty and staff can apply for funding twice a year to hire eligible students.
The purpose of the Experience Works Program is to provide career and skill development to students through the creation of on-campus employment opportunities. Positions in this program must provide students the opportunity to develop varied employability skills through on-the-job training and facilitate the transition to full-time employment after graduation by enhancing the students' portfolios.
Experience Works funds 100% of approved positions; however, employers are required to make a 25% contribution.
The Experience Works Program is subject to rules and guidelines set out by the Ontario Provincial Government through Fee Set-Aside, Ontario Student Assistance Program, and Ontario Work-Study Plan.
