Campus Security Services: I was at a Graduate Student Orientation Breakfast on Tuesday morning, Sept. 15th, (08:30 - 11:00) in the Inlet Pond area. Somewhere between there and Meter road parking lot, I lost a silver bracelet with circles and small colured stones in it. I was also in the lobby of the Book Store and the little foodcourt as well as the washroom in the Book Store lobby. It is not an expensive piece but it has great sentimental value to me. My son gave it to me me for my 50th birthday. My home # is 905-938-1846 Work: 905-688-2854 Ext. 7190 Please call me if you found it. Thank you, Sue |

Employers & Organizations: Hi, My name is Grace and I am writing on behalf of a national student led charitable association called SOS: Students Offering Support. The SOS model comprises of student leaders within universities across Canada who bring together volunteer tutors in their school chapters. As a team, the volunteers at each university chapter organize SOS’s Exam-AID group review sessions, helping their peers get ready for midterms/finals. Depending on the length and coverage of a session, it costs students a donation of $15 to $30 to attend. The money raised goes towards educational development projects in Latin America that help children in a selected community maximize their chances of breaking the cycle of poverty. At the end of each year, each SOS chapter coordinates a volunteer outreach trip to help the local community build the project. As the Director of Talent, I am looking to find student leaders at Brock who would be interested in the leadership opportunity, gaining exposure to the world of social entrepreneurship and managing a sustainable social venture as the president of Brock SOS. The chapter president is responsible for finding and leading a team of student volunteers who work together to raise marks for local students, raise money for sustainable development projects and raise roofs for communities in need. Currently, SOS consists of a network of over 500 student volunteers in 18 SOS chapters who have taught over 5000 students and raised $240,000 for development projects since 2004 – we want Brock to be a part of our family! If interested, I could draft an email to be forwarded to the student body. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions! Kind regards, Grace Lin | National Director of Talent Students Offering Support glin@studentsofferingsupport.ca 647.628.8900 |

Academic Advising: As someone who is currently in Political Science and wanting to switch into Business Economics(BBE) how do I officially do this? I was told to fill out the "Declare or Change Major Form" and it tells me I must first have a 60% average in the introductory courses of this program first. Which classes are the introductory ones? Finally, should I wait until after next year to officially switch my major after I've finished these courses? |
