What is Sport Management?

Undergraduate Program

Sport Management focuses developing students for careers in the sport industry, including public, nonprofit, and commercial organizations. Students are prepared for positions such as management, marketing, public relations, communications, facility and event management, sales, program development, and human resource management in public, nonprofit, and commercial sport organizations.

Graduate Program

The Master of Arts in Sport Management offers students a unique educational experience that emphasizes an individualized program of study, including mentorship-style learning and concentrated inquiry in an area of interest, leading to the completion of a research-based thesis. Course work in the student’s area of interests will complement his/her research focus, and provide additional breadth of knowledge.

The Master of Arts in Sport Management gives graduate students in-depth training, knowledge and research experience through their thesis work, while also providing a broad, cross-disciplinary pedagogical approach with extensive small group learning. Graduate courses and faculty members’ scholarly interests reflect the range of expertise available in the Sport Management program to support individual student interests.
