Rajabhat Institute Chachoengsao in the present time
Rajabhat Institute Chachoengsao (RIC) is a state-owned educational institute, located in Chachoengsao, a province situated right in the fast-growing industrialized eastern seaboard, which is a vast area consisting of 8 provinces on the east coast of the country. The first mission and responsibility of RIC is to serve most of these provinces in pre-service education, in-service education, and short-term training programs that are necessary for the operations of industries and businesses in this area.
For the past 10 years, the vital role of RIC, formerly a Teachers College, has changed from providing only teacher education programs to providing a great variety of programs in other areas as well, to serve the real needs of the community. These include Management Courses, Administration Courses, Communication Arts, Tourism Industry, Computer Science, Technology Courses, and others.
RIC's location, its wide range of course offerings, and its well-know academic achievements attract large enrollments. About 3,000 pre-service learners, over 10,000 in-service learners, and about 1,000 short-term participants enroll per year, but the total number of applicants is far beyond the Institute's capacity. A large number of applicants also come from Bangkok. There are 8 extension centers that cover the eastern part of Thailand under RIC's administration.
