Program Description

 

The Technological Education Teacher Education Program comprises two inter-connected program components. The Bachelor of Education/Certificate of Education teacher education program component begins the last week of August and runs through to the beginning of May. The Additional Qualification component begins in the spring following completion of the Bachelor of Education/Certificate of Education teacher education program component. Additional qualification courses completed in the spring will be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), following confirmation of membership with the OCT.

Bachelor of Education - Technological Education

This stream leads to a BEd degree and certification to teach one broad-based technology from: communications, computer technology, construction, green industries, hairstyling and aesthetics, health care, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, technological design, or transportation from Grades 9 to 12. The Bachelor of Education degree is granted to individuals who currently hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.

Certificate in Education - Technological Education

This stream leads to a Certificate of Education and certification to teach one broad-based technology from: communications, computer technology, construction, green industries, hairstyling and aesthetics, health care, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, technological design, or transportation from Grades 9 to 12. Graduates who obtain a Certificate in Education and who subsequently complete an undergraduate degree can present their transcripts and evidence of convocation from an accredited university to the Brock Registrar and be granted a Bachelor of Education - Technological Education degree.
