Ruth McQuirter Scott is a professor in the Teacher Education Department. Before joining the Brock faculty in 1993 she was a teacher, department head, and consultant with the Halton Board of Education. She has specialized in the field of word study, authoring and co-authoring over thirty texts and professional books in the areas of spelling, vocabulary development, and grammar. Ruth has presented to teachers in every Canadian province, as well as in various American states. Her current interests involve the effective use of technology to enhance word knowledge.
