Dr. Fiona Blaikie's scholarly work focuses on social theory of the body and clothing utilizing arts informed educational research, as well as visual arts curriculum and assessment.

Her awards include the Canadian Society for Education through Art Affiliate Award. She was an invited member of the Canadian delegation to the May 2010 UNESCO World Conference on Arts Education in June 2010 in Seoul, Korea.

Currently, she is Past President of the Canadian Society for Education through Art, a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian National Arts and Learning Symposium, and Dean of the Faculty of Education at Brock University in St. Catharines, Canada. A practicing artist, her artwork is held in collections around the world, including the Bronfman Foundation.
